In 1992 La Toya signed a major deal with the Parisian cabaret Moulin Rouge. At the time the venue had hit rock bottom and desperately needed a publicity boost. La Toya was the answer! She single-handedly turned the club around and provided it with the publicity that saved it from inevitable closure. She initially signed a year long contract – two shows a night. It was an exhausting challenge and La Toya dropped out after only four months, leaving the Moulin Rouge to file a successful law suit for breach of contract, for which they were awarded $400,000.
This CD is sometimes referred to as a La Toya album, however it is actually the soundtrack recording to the Moulin Rouge stage show, similar to a cast recording of a Broadway or West End musical.
